El Dorado Winery Association member wineries are a select group of small, independent and family-owned wineries invested in the agriculture of the El Dorado and Fair Play American Viticultural Areas (AVA). Over 75% of the wine produced here is both grown and produced locally.

Our mountain vineyards are on steep hillsides with warm summer days and cool nights. It’s an environment that gives wines luscious fruit, an alluring balance, gentle tannins, and body and depth. El Dorado County has over 40 wineries, growing more than100 varietals.

Celebrating twenty years of winemaking, @narrowgatevineyards is a charming European-style boutique winery that features exclusively Biodynamic® wines. Owners Frank and Teena Hildebrand welcome visitors with tastings, food and wine pairings, and educational vineyard walks. Some fun facts include:
🍷 Flagship wines include Dunamis, and Chocolate Splash, a special Port blend infused with bittersweet natural chocolate essence.
🐄 Their extended family on property includes a yellow lab, three cats, ten chickens, and ten cows.
🍇 The apple (or should we say grape) doesn’t fall far from the tree - their daughter is also a winemaker, with her own brand, Lady of the Sunshine Wines!
