About the winery

HERE'S THE DIRT... YOU'VE JUST FOUND WINE YOU CAN TRUST. We are a Demeter certified Biodynamic® winery and vineyard tucked away in Ponderosa pines just outside the historic town of Placerville, California, in beautiful El Dorado wine country. Bring your friends and family and visit our relaxing, romantic yet unpretentious tasting room located in our candlelit cellar. Enjoy the outdoor patio and picnic tables (where your well-behaved, leashed pooch and supervised children are most welcome) and experience our warm hospitality, delicious wines, cheese and charcuterie boards, or one of our seasonal food and wine pairing events. Our hands-on involvement in all aspects of our family business starts in our Estate vineyard and extends to our minimal-intervention winemaking, utilizing only biodynamic and organic (OMRI) approved inputs, with the addition of in-row tilling and weed whacking, as needed, for weed and pest management. We build and produce our own biodynamic compost from our cows and chickens, biodynamic preparations, and pumice and stems from wine production, and till it back into the vineyard rows to heal the soil and feed the vines.
