Pink Goes with Everything!

When was the last time you had a Rosé? How about one grown and made in El Dorado wine country? If it hasn't been recently you're missing out!

It's surprisingly cool to "drink pink" these days. Rosé, a wine noticeably overlooked in years past, is now making its way back into the limelight as a delightful addition to your perfect warm summer wine indulging. In some ways, Rosé is slightly misunderstood by many who confuse it with White Zinfandel - the two are actually quite different. One of the most important differences is that most Rosés are DRY…not sweet. Here are some additional notes about Rosé:

  1. The color is pink… Rosé is NOT made from mixing red and white wines together. Rosé is made from red grapes.
  2. The longer the grape skins are left sitting in the juice, the darker the color of the finished rosé – that's why you see varying shades of pink from different wineries.
  3. Rosés are made from nearly any red grape: Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Grenache and Syrah just to name a few!
  4. Traditionally, Rosés are meant to be drunk early rather than cellared for further aging,  so don't let that Rosé sit in the refrigerator forever!
  5. When it comes to food pairings, Rosé is multi-faceted. Try barbeque, summer salads, and fresh grilled fish. Check out our Pinterest Board for more pairing ideas.

More importantly, Rosé is delicious, well balanced and can be enjoyed in any season with many different dishes! It's understated, romantic and great for sipping or enjoying with food.
